Worth the study.....

Praxis 2 English really prepares you for the type of questions as seen on the test. The vocabulary part was probably the most efficient, although concerning the texts, KNOW your Shakespeare and review as much literary genre British/American, all periods Old English-Post Modern as you can. Add this book with SPARKNOTES.com (videos and context summaries) and you should pass. The worst part of the test is the lengthy reading.

Another success

This is the second CliffsNotes Praxis prep book I have purchased, and knocked both tests out of the park. This particular book helped me more with base knowledge than preparing directly for the test, though. I took the high school content knowledge test (all multiple choice), and the test questions were vastly different from the practice tests in the book. Can you say Common Core? Maybe that will be reflected in a newer edition if one is published. I don't know how the book aligns with any of the constructed response tests, but I plan on keeping it for a study guide if I ever need to take one. I recommend it.

Good StudyGuide but NOT for the 5038

While this study guide has a lot of information it is just not for the 5038 test. I've read some other reviews saying that this book works for the updated 5038 test, but that is simply false. Of course this is some and I do mean some useful information that crosses over to the new test, but this book is largely useless for preparing for the 5038. I would strongly recommend the ETS product on their website. The 5038 focuses almost exclusively on teaching protocol and method.
