Sie dokumentieren eine absolute Minderzahl von Frauen in Führungspositionen und eine Vielzahl von weiblichen Hochschulabsolventen, die trotz erfolgreichen Abschlusses Tätigkeiten mit geringen Verantwortlichkeiten wie der Positioneiner sogenannten „Office Lady" wahrnehmen . Andere verzichten völlig auf eine berufliche Karriere. Doch reichen bloße Zahlen für ein wirklich treffendes Urteil?
Die Gleichberechtigung von Mann und Frau in der Arbeitswelt ist im interkulturellen Dialog ein sensibles Thema und um ihm gerecht zu werden, bedarf es dem Heranziehen von verschiedenen Faktoren. Meine Arbeit soll eben diese Tatsache verdeutlichen, indem etwa die Einflüsse des japanischen Wertesystems und das Verständnis von Rollenverteilung im Alltag klar gemacht werden. Zudem ist jeder Befund schwer zu bewerten, sofern er ohne Vergleich beurteilt wird. Es gilt also außerdem herauszufinden, ob die v ermeintlich benachteiligte Stellung der Frau im Beruf in Japan tatsächlich als absolut konservativ zu sehen ist, bzw. ob etwa westeuropäische Länder diesbezüglich andere Strukturen aufweisen.
Auch ist es unerlässlich, über die zahlenbelasteten Theorie der Statistiken hinauszugehen und einen Blick in die Praxis zu werfen.
