About the Author
Jean Ure was born in Surrey and wrote her first novel when she was six years old. She spent her teenage years writing and had her first book published when she was sixteen – an event that prompted her to leave school the following year to continue writing.
Jean lives in a three-hundred-year-old house in the centre of Croydon with her husband and their family of rescued dogs and cats.

A must read book

I read this book two summers ago with my daughter and we literally could not put it down- she was 11 at the time, so it was a perfect age to read it. In fact all the other girls of similar ages in the house began reading the book too and I ended up buying them copies! ....I loved it too, and I'm considerably older! Indeed it is amongst my favourite children's books. It is a deeply moving story about a brave, ambitious and lovable young girl who has to face elements of the darker side of life at a tender age. It is beautifully written through the eyes of this young girl in a surprisingly upbeat way- despite the fact it deals with some serious issues. I would not recommend it to much younger readers- due to the subject matter. But I think everyone should read Becky's brave tale at some point!Becky Bananas: This Is Your Life!

This book is so cool! Becky is an eleven-year-old girl with AML and she is talking about her life. It has a really sad ending.
